The day the plants attacked.
My name is Allie Barker, I live in Denver, Colorado, and I am going to tell you the story of how I died. The day started out just like any other Friday, except it was the thirteenth. Everyone says that if you don’t believe in superstitions, than they won’t happen, and that’s the problem I have. Any superstition there is, I believe in it. On the way to school, I met up with my friend, Jaroden. “Hey Jaroden,” I shouted, “wait up!” Once I caught up with him we went to pick our friend Lillie up at her house. We continued on to school, when we got there, there were Denver Police officers talking to the principal outside. “I wonder what they are doing here,” I thought to myself, “this is such a good school. There should be no reason for them to be here.” We started to walk to our usual hang out spot, the lunch tables outside when one of the police officers called, “Hey you kids, will you come talk to me for a minute, please.” “What did we do?” we whispered amongst ourselves.
As we walked up to him, everyone started to stare. “What did we do wrong Officer?” He just looked at us and shook his head. “Do you have any idea what has happened here?” the officer asked. “No we just barely got here, not even ten minutes ago.” Jaroden replied. At the time the officer didn’t believe us, until we went and talked in the principal’s office. The office was cold, like a morning of winter. It was also cluttered; there were papers on his desk that needed to be sorted in cabinets, empty water bottles that needed to be thrown away, and his chairs were covered by stacks of paper. The police officer asked a whole bunch of questions, and for most of those; we didn’t have an answer to.
He asked us for our names, our parent’s names and also where we lived at. When he was done questioning us; he told us what had happened over the small break we had. He told us that some manic person broke in and injured some of the kids that help the janitors out; the person did not harm the janitors, only the kids were harmed. “Have you caught the person that did that?” I asked. “No not yet,” he told us, “but that is why we are talking to you about it.” “We didn’t do anything wrong!” I screamed, “We weren’t even in town over the weekend, so how could we be the ones that did it, if we weren’t even here?!” “Allie,” Lillie said, “please calm down. This is not the kind of situation that you need to scream and yell.”
After I told her to calm down, she got up, and stormed out of the room. I started to go after her, when the police officer told me to sit down. Then he told Jaroden to go back to class and to make sure that Allie made it to her class. “You are a big part of this whole situation, Miss Lillie.” He told me. “How am I a big part of this, I don’t even have a criminal record.” “Not yet any way” she thought to herself.
